Recalling the painted prints on decorative glass bowls made by potters in Aleppo, imitating the Art Nouveau porcelain originals they couldn’t afford, hinting at our borderless existence. Treasures lie in the unseen and/or hidden. Russian Chintz textiles were produced in the early 20th century for export to Central Asia to become the backing of embroidered Suzanis. We collected these vibrant textiles overtime and now use them as the front, inverting their role as the underdog.
