The Bokja Foundation

Collective Foundation

Bokja began as a house of assembled cloth. The Foundation names the work around it: women, makers, memory, craft and the right for fragments to become whole again.

The Foundation gathers the work the house does around the work: keeping textile knowledge named and visible, centring the makers who carry it, and treating the archive as living material.

Commitments

Craft To keep textile knowledge visible, named and passed from hand to hand.
Makers To centre the people who sew, mend, embroider and carry the work.
Archive To treat the archive as living material, not decoration.
